I have a couple of people ask how I designed my announcements. So I researched a lot on Papel Picado and how it is made. I grabbed a lot of images off the internet and I then did what I do a lot. I traced the pixellated images using illustrator and just pieced together a bunch of designs to make my final design. The real magic comes when you actually cut the tissue paper. This makes the edges a little rougher and unique. That is why it still hurts my heart a little bit that I could only handcut about half of them.
To answer another question, I will be creating an invitation line to be released sometime in the future. Is that specific enough? I have had some interest in my announcements and they will probably be available, but they wll be quite pricey. Think $15 each. But, if you want a keepsake or two and you want me to print the rest or design them for you to print, that would be a much more conservative way to go and I would be more than happy to do it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
